A short summary…

This section covers events happening in Bristol, on the voyage to Treasure Island, and before anyone went ashore. It is in this part that we learn of LJS’s idea to mutiny, and the stories circulating among the crew. We hear of the worthiness of the Hispaniola as a sailing vessel, and the trials and tribulations of Captain Smollett among his crew and among those who hired him. He is initially hated by everyone, but he gains rapport among the Squire and Jim after demonstrating his abilities and worthiness at the command of the vessel.
